Privacy policy
Last updated 23 September 2026
In short
The VRX3D app collects nothing about you and never connects to the internet. This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking; the web server keeps a standard log of requests for 14 days, for security, and then deletes it.
The VRX3D app
VRX3D (named VRX in the app and on GitHub) runs entirely on your own PC. It has no accounts, no telemetry, no crash reporting and no update check, and it makes no network connections of its own.
- The game picture is captured from the window you choose and processed on your own graphics card to make the 3D view. It is never saved or sent anywhere.
- Settings and logs are stored only on your PC, under
%LOCALAPPDATA%\VRX: your per-game settings (which include the game's file path), the app's own settings, a session log for each time you play, and a cache of compiled shaders. You can delete that folder at any time. Uninstalling removes the shader cache and keeps your settings and logs, in case you reinstall. - SteamVR and your headset run the VR side. VRX3D talks to them only on your PC, through OpenXR; what SteamVR itself collects is covered by Valve's privacy policy.
You can check all of this yourself: the complete source code is on GitHub.
This website
vrx3d.uk is a plain page served from my own server. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and loads nothing from other sites: no fonts, scripts, analytics, adverts or embedded videos. The 3D effects run in your browser.
Like almost every web server, it writes a log line for each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file asked for, the response, the referring page (if your browser sends one) and your browser's user-agent string. The logs are used only to keep the server secure and working and to count visits roughly. They are not shared with anyone, not combined with other data, and are deleted automatically after 14 days.
Other sites
Downloads and the source code are on GitHub, "Support the project" goes to Ko-fi, and VRX3D may later be on Steam. When you use those sites, their own privacy policies apply: GitHub, Ko-fi and Steam.
Who is responsible, and your rights
VRX3D and this website are run by Paul Kelly, in the United Kingdom. The only personal data involved is the web server log above, kept for the legitimate interest of running the site securely. Under UK data protection law you can ask what is held about you, or for it to be deleted, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
To ask a question or make a request, open an issue on GitHub. Please don't post personal details there; say you would like to be contacted privately.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
